Nombrar en femenino no es solo una operación lingüística, sino una acción política. Al reaparecer en el texto, estas palabras ingresan al imaginario social y cultural, poniendo en tensión la manera en que el lenguaje construye mundo. El libro funciona como un ejercicio de reapropiación, borradura y reescritura que cuestiona la autoridad del canon, la neutralidad del lenguaje y las jerarquías que este reproduce.
La Códiga es archivo intervenido, gesto performativo y publicación feminista: una relectura que altera el sentido original del texto para imaginar otras formas de nombrar, pensar y habitar lo común.
La Códiga begins with a simple yet radical gesture: intervening a book about Andy Warhol by covering its pages with white paint in order to rewrite it. Betzamee takes words that carry a masculine grammatical gender in Spanish and transforms them into the feminine, replacing the “o” with an “a,” shifting language away from its hegemonic form toward another mode of enunciation.
Naming in the feminine is not merely a linguistic operation, but a political act. When these words reappear in the text, they enter the social and cultural imaginary, opening a discussion on how language constructs the world. The book operates as an exercise in appropriation, erasure, and rewriting that questions the authority of the canon, the supposed neutrality of language, and the hierarchies it reproduces.
La Códiga functions simultaneously as an intervened archive, a performative gesture, and a feminist publication—an altered reading that disrupts the original text in order to imagine other ways of naming, thinking, and inhabiting the common.
